The weekend

My dear Gs,

This weekend felt like the kind of weekend I'd hoped we would have all summer!   The summer was so crazy for various reasons that even the weekends felt packed and stressful.  This weekend was chill, though, and we had a great time.

On Friday night, we went to a work event that you both loved.  It was at the botanical gardens in our town and you were especially drawn to the butterfly house.  It was warm, but you loved running around everywhere and I enjoyed introducing you to my colleagues.

On Saturday (after another trip to Graham's doctor for a 2nd round of antibiotics for his current ear infection), Grace and I got to have a date!  We had pedicures, did a little shopping, and enjoyed some ice cream.  I mean no offense, Grace, but it is great that you have gotten to an age when it is truly fun to take you places!  :-)  We had a great time.

Grace, you LOVED the massage chair!

I have no idea why, but you insisted I take a picture of you with this random thing at Hobby Lobby!  It was a little awkward... :-)
Saturday night we had friends from church over and you both performed for them as usual.  You loved showing them how fast you can ride on your bikes and, of course, how awesome you can dance.

Today we had a great morning at church and then a little bit of rest.  In the car on the way to church, Grace taught us that she'd learned how to "silent clap" and "silent yell" at school this year.  I'm sure those two skills are invaluable in kindergarten!

Graham, you are actually getting pretty good at passing the ball!
Tonight while Daddy was away playing ball with friends, we continued our new tradition of having a picnic in the living room and watching a movie.  It's one of those random, fun things you both love to do!

Uh-oh, another picture where Graham is not entirely clothes.  Aunt Abigail is starting to think you never wear pants, Graham!
I'm so glad the four of us got to spend time together this weekend.  Daddy and I love you so much!

Mommy
