28 Weeks Already?

I just knew this would happen with baby #2, but I still wasn't prepared. All of the sudden, it's the third trimester of this pregnancy and I am hardly any closer to being ready for the baby's arrival! The timing is this baby is a little different, meaning closer to basketball season and therefore leaving us less time to prepare between the end of the season and the baby's arrival (maybe 8 weeks, depending on how well our season ends). No, the baby doesn't have a name yet. No, the baby doesn't have any furniture. No, the baby doesn't have any newborn clothes to wear (although he does have some cute 6 months clothes, thanks to my family members!). At some point, the preparing will begin. Until then, here's a 28 week update for the books.

How far along: 28 weeks

Total weight gain: Ugh. I don't want to talk about it. I was hoping to only gain 25 pounds the whole time and I've already gained that much. Blah! Still better than last time, though.

Maternity clothes: Allll the way. Especially dresses and tights. I would live in the same pair of very comfy tights every day if I could.

Gender: A boy! This is really exciting! We don't have a name picked out but have been tossing around some-- Zachary and Luke are the main ones. We do have a middle name, provided it "goes" with whatever first name we choose.

Movement: Lots- at least once an hour. Sometimes I find myself thinking that he hasn't moved in a while, only to realize I just haven't been paying attention.

What I miss: Feeling like a normal human being! :-) I have been working out every other day since Christmas (and even run a little ) and this makes me feel a little more normal but a lot more tired. Also, I miss sleeping through the night without having to use the restroom a bunch.

Cravings: Still Mexican and Italian food. New this week: peanut butter M&Ms. But, I wonder: are these really cravings or just things I always love but don't let myself eat when I'm not pregnant?

Best moment this week (or in the last 6 weeks since my previous update): Probably just the mounting excitement of having another little baby. It is so fun to see and hear Grace get as excited as Nathaniel and I are!

This pregnancy has been a lot different than my other one. Namely, I have been moving a lot slower than I remembered with Grace. Part of it probably has to do with my job requiring a lot more running around now, so I get tired more quickly. Part of it is probably due to chasing around Grace while being pregnant. My mom likes to remind me that I am also older and I didn't really give that much thought at first (after all, it's only 3 years) but I started to buy into that recently. The last couple of weeks have brought on the nausea again along with feeling like a giant blimp. The good news is there are only 12 weeks left until we meet our little boy!

I think you are right about the cravings part! For me, it was always just stuff that sounded good that I would not normally eat {at least as often as I did when pregnant!} I know you wanted to gain less weight, but just think losing 20 extra pounds will seem like nothing compared to last time.

I'm with you on the more tired thing. And I do think that for me it has a little bit to do with being older - it may only be 4 years but still. I was 25-years-old when I had Hayden and now I'm almost 30 (I will be 30 in August). I think it makes a difference!

I think I have gained about 17-18 pounds - I wish it was less (but it's not). Oh well.

I'll be 28 weeks Monday - very exciting! 3rd Trimester.

And Hayden has been getting very sweet about it and that makes me very happy.

See y'all next Sunday (weather permitting) to exchange clothes and stuff! I'm excited to see some cute girl stuff!!!!
