Lake Weekend

Good things happened last week and bad things happened.  Good thing: we got to see Uncle Joel for the first time since March 2011!  Bad thing: I got strep.  Good thing: we got to spend the weekend at the lake with my entire family!  Bad thing: I got a stomach bug after recovering from strep.  Good thing: my sweet friend Brea got married.  I thought I'd end on a good thing!

Seriously, we were beyond excited to see Joel, who lives in Portland.  The last time he came to visit was about 6 weeks before Graham was born!  So, we had a lot of catching up to do.  When Joel is here, the family just feels complete.  We grew up so close and were best friends through high school.  I miss seeing him and being around him!

Because I got strep, we only got to hang with Joel for about 24 hours (HUGE bummer), but we were happy to see him at all.  Since we were busy hanging out (and I was busy recovering), I took very few pictures.  Sad.  :-(  But here are some of the few I do have of the family at the lake.

Walking around the back before family pictures

This pic of little Graham makes me laugh!

No, Grace wouldn't look at the camera, but she would allow me to take a picture of her non-matching headband.

It takes a lot of people to get Brynlee to smile during a family pic.
Uncle Joel is such a good sport-- in this picture, watching Grace dance to High School Musical 3.

Graham loved the lake and being out on the boat...except that pesky life jacket.

Can you see the butterfly wings?  She wouldn't take those off once she found them.
Grace also spent much of her time hiding from the camera under this random umbrella.
Graham and Brynlee playing
All 3 kiddos playing together
Another example of Uncle Joel as a good sport-- letting Grace to pretend to paint his feet.  While wearing 3 headbands and butterfly wings.
We love you, Uncle Joel!
