This week, we got his bedding in the mail and got it set up with the furniture. The room is making very slow progress. After getting his furniture and bedding in there, I feel like we need to paint. I am thinking about just doing one accent wall in this color. I'm not feeling up to a whole room paint job, but the room needs a little color!
We are really excited that the coming weekend brings a family reunion! My brother is in from the West coast, Abigail is down from Joplin, and Lyd and the fam and Mom and Dad are in O-town as usual. I just cherish the times when we are all together! It only happens once or twice a year, so I want to soak it up...
This time is the perfect time of year for us to all be together: the first round of the NCAA tournament. I know of no family who enjoys it like we do. We all submit brackets to a family pool and are very, very competitive about the tournament. My mom is the tournament administrator and sends out daily updates to let us know how we are all doing. And they are hilarious and very entertaining! I am thankful to have a family who loves sports, but especially basketball! :-)
Back to the baby business...
How far along: 34 weeks
How far along: 34 weeks
Total weight gain: 35 pounds (-ish, depending on the day). Wish it was less, but happy it is not more! I am hoping to stay really close to this number through the end.
Maternity clothes: Allll the way. Especially dresses and tights. I think I wear a dress and tights twice a week. Last time, I couldn't even fit into any of my pants by this point, though, so I am happy I can still wear my jeans and everything.
Gender: A boy! He who shall not be named. Just kidding! He does have a name and I can't wait to tell the family this weekend! We have been waiting so we could tell them in person.
Movement: Lots- this boy is a mover and a shaker- just another way this pregnancy is different. He is already waking me up in the middle of the night. I need to start loading up the DVR with random shows to watch for my middle of the night stints.
What I miss: Feeling well-rested. Between the baby waking me up with movement in the wee hours, Grace sneaking into our bed in the middle of the night, and working a ton, I feel like an exhausted mess. An emotional, exhausted mess. So, I also miss feeling sane.
Cravings: The last couple of weeks have taken be back to a place of nausea. In fact, we went to lunch on Sunday and I ordered what I thought sounded really good. When I got it, I took one look and couldn't eat it. I felt like I was 6 weeks pregnant again! I don't remember this happening last time?!
Best moment this week (or in the last 6 weeks since my previous update): Getting the bedroom set-up and buying a few baby clothes so I feel a little prepared for his arrival. Also, Grace telling me that she heard the baby crying and that "he cries a lot." Little does she know...

35 lbs is great!! I can't wait to hear what name you decided on... I keep wanting to ask but I figured you would just tell us when you decide {if you wanted us to know}!
I don't know if Hayden is ready for the crying and fussiness - it will be interesting!
I also can't wait to hear about the name. I am assuming you will share it with "us" after you have told your family - at least I hope that is your plan!
I think I have gained about 25 pounds - and I too wish it were a little less and hope to stay around that number and not gain anymore (and I realize that's less than you and you are thinking, I wish I had only gained 25 - BUT I am also a lot shorter than you... only 5'1"... so 25 pounds on me is a pretty good chunk of change!).
Anywho, I am glad things are going well for you! Our little ones will be here before we know it!!!
