A formulaic decision

Thanks to everyone for their kind words and thoughts. You all get four gold stars today! (School of Rock reference anyone??)

After a long week, we've decided to slowly change Grace from breast milk to formula. It has been a huge stress (as you know if you've been reading this blog) for the past several weeks to figure out how and where to pump while I travel for work. And when you add the whole she-may-not-be-getting-enough-to-eat stuff from the pediatrician, it's enough to make a mom go crazy! So for everyone's sanity, formula it is. I think the transition will probably take a week. I'm really looking forward to not being stressed about it any more. I was totally doing the guilt-thing all day yesterday, going back and forth, and toturing myself by reading stuff on the La Leche League's website. Finally I talked to my mom and she said "I think you've already decided but you won't let yourself do what you think you should do." Man, she is always right about me! And in just the past two nights that we've been giving her milk from a bottle, we've noticed that she is a lot less fussy at night-time, which makes me wonder if she really could have been hungry. Anyway, I still plan to go see her at lunch and feed her from a bottle. That is one of my favorite parts of each day!

Being a mom is much more complicated that I imagined, but so much better, too. We are so blessed to have Grace! I am so thankful, too, for N and my family and friends and how supportive you all are in our quest to be Godly parents. Maybe you should get an extra four gold stars for that. ;-)

In all of the craziness of the week, I totally forgot to announce Gracie's first attempt at chowing down rice cereal! We did this Tuesday night and got a few pictures of the event. I was surprised that she reacted pretty favorably to the stuff. I wouldn't say she loved it or anything, but she was definitely willing to give it a try. I think chewing on the spoon was actually her favorite part!

Don't make me eat anymore!

After night two of feeding...

She was a little bit more into the rice cereal tonight.  We had fun, just me and Grace, giving it the old college try.

This weekend the Razorbacks host Ole Miss and our former coach, Houston Nutt. I hope we win, but I won't be holding my breath. It's a night game and it'll be downright chilly in the 'Ville. I'm excited to get all bundled up. It is a fun night for another reason-- G gets to hang with Danielle, her babysitter. Their last encounter wasn't all that great because G was fighting a cold and not the happiest baby. I'm hoping they get to have a little more fun this time! Here's a sweet picture of Danielle and G after their first time together a few weeks ago.

And now a totally random picture to end the post.  This is Grace sitting in her Bumbo, playing with one of her toys...and Shiloh is content to lay and guard her.  So precious!  :-)

What a tough decision, but you have to do what you're comfortable with!

Look at that little cutie in her jeans, oh my goodness! =)
