Capri

Hi from baby land! Today we had our 15 weeks pregnant doctor's appointment. The baby's heartbeat was easy to find this time and is beating at 151 beats per minute. "Perfect" according to Dr. Smith. We are so excited to find out the sex of our baby, but we have to wait five loooong weeks to have an ultrasound. Hopefully the baby will cooperate and we will be able to find out then. Until then, we continue to hold off buying things so they can be gender-specific. That hasn't stopped me from picking out furniture, though, which you can see here:

Of course, other things are going on in life. Specifically, sports. First of all, the Elks are playing pretty much every night and doing well. On the college front, the Razorbacks and the Huskers both have new coaches! The Huskers got an awesome coach who knows about and appreciates Nebraska tradition which is key. The Razorbacks have a big-name coach (Bobby Petrino) who will make almost $3 million a year. Most Razorback fans are thrilled and can't wait until the first game of next season to see what he'll do. I think we got very lucky to hire a big name after being publicly turned down by four coaches. But, the people at ESPN don't have very nice things to say about Petrino. Namely, they claim that he hops from job to job in search of more money and is always looking for a new job. See article below:

I guess we'll see where he takes us. All I can say is that we are back on for season tickets for next year. I had decided not to buy them when other coaches were supposedly coming...now, we'll keep and see what happens with Petrino.

On a totally different note, Abigail (my youngest sister) recently gave me Colbie Caillat's cd called "Coco." While we were home for Thanksgiving, all of us girls were listening to the cd in the car and Abigail dedicated this song to me. I thought she was being funny at first, but I had tears by the time the song was finished.

Capri
Colbie Caillat

She’s got a baby inside
And holds her belly tight
All through the night
Just so she knows
She’s sleeping so
Safely to keep
Her growing
And oh when she'll open her eyes
There'll be no surprise
That she'll grow to be
So beautifully
Just like her mother
That’s carrying
Oh Capri
She’s beauty
Baby inside she’s loving
Oh Capri
She’s beauty
There is and angel growin’ peacefully
Oh Capri
Sweet baby
And things will be hard at times
But I've learned to try
Just listening
Patiently, oh Capri
Sweet baby
Oh Capri
She’s beauty
Baby inside she’s loving
Oh Capri
Your beauty
Just like your mother
That’s carrying...Oh Capri

So I enjoy listening to that song. It's a beautiful song instrumentally, too. I also thought it was funny that pregnant women would walk around holding their tummies like they were guarding it or something. Now I know that is pretty much we are doing. Like the song says,

"Holds her belly tight
All through the night
Just so she knows
She’s sleeping so
Safely to keep
Her growing"

Anyway, thanks, Abigail, for introducing me to it!
